New Year's Eve

Well, the year is almost behind us. For us, it was an okay year. Highlights: Mexico, new puppy; low lights: I lost my job and my son lost his job. But 2009 looks promising. I'm going back to school to upgrade my skills, looking forward to that. (I need to start hunting down some grants though.) We're all healthy, my husband expects a couple of raises in the first 6 months of the year, my youngest one will be graduating in June, I'm running my first marathon and who knows what other good can be waiting. My resolution for the past few years was to be positive. Don't focus on flaws and weaknesses. This year it'll be similar. This year my resolution will be: how can I turn a negative into a positive? When I'm handed a lemon I'll try to make lemonade, instead of get more sour. God is good. He doesn't put us on this earth without the necessary tools to live, love and be happy. You ask him for help He's there for you. He'll help you find the tools he gave you. And the strength to use them.

Goals in 2009: 1) Get my youngest graduated and prepared for the afterlife (college) and 2) finish the marathon. After that just take on challenges, set backs and/or disappointments with a smile and positive attitude, try to find the good in them. Make lemonade. I like lemonade.
